Residents and beachgoers in Huntington Beach were stunned Saturday afternoon when a helicopter suddenly plummeted from the sky and crashed near the shoreline.
“I heard a loud noise, looked up, and saw it spinning out of control,” said Maria Lopez, who was walking her dog nearby. “It looked like something was wrong with the tail before it went down.”
Within minutes, lifeguards and first responders arrived, pulling several injured passengers from the wreckage. All five victims were taken to hospitals, and authorities confirmed that everyone survived the crash.
The area was quickly cordoned off as investigators began collecting debris and analyzing the crash site.
